Sixteen

Sixteen.

I didn't feel older when I woke up. I guess you're never supposed to. But I did feel like the day was the beginning of a new chapter in my life, and hopefully a good one.

Turns out not much has changed now that I'm 16.
I can work places without a permit now.
Except Starbucks.
But except for that, nothing.

Same boy problems.
Same summer vacation that's gonna stretch on until Feburary.
Same family treatment..

But what DID happen that was pretty cool was:

An Awesome birthday party

More respect from my friends

A trip to New York

And my Nana coming(:

I hope I am going to enjoy my sixteen-year-old months(:

Until next time...

A Red Moon
Last Night (May 30, 2010- Monday. 1:30 A.M.)

I was watching a movie with my best friend and my parents in the TV room, called Armageddon. I was already in the mood for some kind of big event, so it was pretty cool when my mum called us outside to look at the moon.

At first, when she told me, 'you'll never see this again in your life,' I thought she was talking about a solar eclipse or something. I've already seen one of those.

This was much cooler than a moon cycle.

There were loads of wild fires in Quebec, Canada last night, because it's been so dry and humid the past week. Because of the raging flames, it caused lots of smoke. Because Maine is quite close to Quebec, all the smoke from Canada blew on the wind down to America. It smelt like smoke all night outside. We had to go in, because we'd started to cough.

That wasn't the cool part, though. The moon was reflecting the fire, and it turned the moon as red as blood. Not even joking. It was quite a sight, and I'll never forget it.

It's about 5 P.M. Now, on Monday, and you can still faintly smell the smoke. There are about 50 wild fires in Canada right now, and I hope it's not awful to think that's pretty impressive.

I feel awful for the loss of woods, but hey, that moon was awesome.

Just felt like sharing the lastest of my adventures.

Popcorn.

Popcorn.

I was sitting in class today, and my Spanish teacher asked whoever in the class to stand, if they didn't like popcorn. I stood, because I don't like popcorn.
People were looking at me and asking, 'why don't you like popcorn?'

Now, why exactly do I not like popcorn?
It's great movie food, and it's great for snacking on when you're hungry, and it (I've heard) relieves stress in a stressful, dramatic situation. (Hence why they use it for movies.)
But, it has it's flaws. It really does.
For one... it's mutilated corn.

How sad. This poor corn, unknowing that it's about to be popped. WELL, I'm sure it's a bad enough fate that we smother it in butter and fry it and eat it in the first place, but I'm not about to start feeling bad for the stuff, I mean, we gotta eat, and that doesn't have a brain. But... Popcorn is just wrong. It's just... not corn anymore.

Corn is good.

Popcorn is bad.

Another reason, I dislike it is the fact that it get's wedged between your teeth. How's that for a beautiful feeling. I don't know about you, but whenever I used to get popcorn stuck between my teeth... it never felt great. And it's so sharp, my goodness! It made my mouth bleed once. Not gonna lie.

Then there's the BIGGEST reason: It stinks.

It smells like Rotorua.

Of course, if you're reading this, and you're from America, or someplace that isn't New Zealand, you might not understand the resemblance.

I'll explain it.
Rotorua is a city in New Zealand, in the North Island, by the Bay of Plenty. The city is known for it's geothermal activity (Like gysers, boiling mud pools, ect.) And because of all this heat, and activity going on underneath the surface of the place, it makes everything (including the air) smell very bad. I could have been born right next to a boiling mud pool, and I'd still say it smelt bad. Like a skunk on the road... or whatever it smells like when your dog poops inside.
Or you could just smell popcorn.
That's just how much it smells.
Just wanted to let y'all know I dislike it.

P.S. This wasn't trying to make anyone dislike popcorn, just stating facts.

Have a good day(:

SPRING

It's May, which means, it's officially Spring.
Like way into Spring.
I just stink at getting blogs done. Ha, but I'm working at that.
The thing I love about Spring is that it's so beautiful and fresh.
Everything is growing, and I love that. It just feels like a rebirthing of the world.
You can smell the freshness after a rain shower, and I love the afternoon thunderstorms, when it's still warm outside, and the thunder just rocks the house.
I love the sounds of birds in the morning when I wake up. I love looking out my window and in the early morning and seeing the sun shining through the trees. It's so pretty, because they're new leaves, so they're kind of yellow, so it makes the sunshine almost golden over everything, and it's absolutely stunning.
Everyone's always happy in Spring, too. Everyone feels new and alive. Like we've been the ones sleeping all Winter, and now we're waking up. Now, we've all come out of our shells.
I have to admit I feel more alive in Spring.
That's why it's my favourite season.
And school ends! All kids love that.
There's something also very sad about this Spring. To me, anyway.
Maybe it's because this is my last Spring in this country?
Maybe it's because I won't get to see any of my school friends ever again?
Maybe... I don't know...
I'll be okay, though.
I think...
I love the flowers.
Flowers are gorgeous little gifts from God, sent to make girls like me, very, very, very, happy. :) They are just the prettiest pieces of nature. They define Spring. I'm having a pretty great Spring.
Just thought I should share that with anyone who will read it.
Lots of Love

January

It is January 31st, Sunday, and it truthfully is relieving to have this month done with. I am counting down the months until this September, but I am also counting down the days until each fun retreit and event that takes place this year. The next retreit we have is Winter Retreit, and I'm looking forward to it, since it's the only time of the year until summer when I get to see some of my freinds in other states. Right now: thirteen days till.
This month felt like it went by slowly. It feels great to be in 2010 already, and boy 2009 went by like ZAP! (HAPPY NEW YEAR) haha, anyways, it was a tiring, interesting, and exausting month. I did a couple of waffle breakfasts for fundraising for winter retreit, and by now I'm sure I'm an expert waffle maker(: Those fundraisers raised a lot, and they were the best waffles in the world, because they were actually made from scratch, not made by Aunt Jemimah.
I have had a crush or two this month for sure, and I've helped a couple of freinds with they're romance problems, and they helped me with mine. I'm no matchmaker, but one of the freinds I helped out, is happily un-single now. I think all her beau needed was a little freindly encouragement. Yay, now I sound like Emma.
I saw a couple of great movies this month, and yes, their both Jane Austen. I've also seen a few great trailers for things coming out, and I know there are loads I can go see, but some of them which looked expecially good, I can't go see because their rated R. I think that's a problem, because it's frusterating for teens under 18 who totally want to go and see it. Anyway, Dear John is a must, even though it looks super depressing. And I saw Bride and Prejudice, which almost convinced me to move to India, or at least visit, and I saw the BBC version of Emma, with Gwyneth Paltrow. She's a wonderful actress.
I had midterms at school, and started new classes. ALl my lunches are changed up, which bothers me, and I think I failed two of my midterms for sure. I am SO not looking forward to finals. I will be glad when tenth grade is OVER and I can have my six month break from school after that. One good thing about moving to New Zealand, is the fact they don't start school until Feburary. YES, so I'm looking forward to an extended summer vacation. Having summer here, then going back to spring then summer over there, will be awesome! Hello, Sunshine! (:
I've gotten some writing done, but not a lot, I need to keep working at it so I can get Cherry Bomb at least published by Easter.
Hopefully theres something awesome in store for Feb. I'm looking forward to Spring at this point, it's so cold here. Well, see ya! (:

My Righteous Invasion Of Truth.

So there's this amazing crowd that I've grown up with in the years that matter in a girls life: the preteen years. These guys have been there through the good, bad and ugly, and we get sick of eachother, sure, but we're family. We tough it out and stick out for one another, and you couldn't ask for more.
In the years that I've known all of my friends in my youth group (RIOT: Righteous Invasion Of Truth) at the Pathway Vineyard, I've grown so much. I've made mistakes and I've learned from them and I've also benifited from them, and made some amazing friends. I've dragged people down, and people have dragged me down, but it's all a part of life; we're only human.
I would have to say that Maine and the Pathway Vineyard have to be two of the biggest best things that have happened to me in my lifetime. I can't even begin to imagine what my life would be like if I hadn't moved here.
I could never forget my first Aquire the Fire trip. I overpacked, and I brought an alarm clock, and people weren't to happy with me when it went off 15 minutes to 6 in the morning. I remember walking back to the van in the parking lot when it was over, and I wasn't watching where I was going and ran into a pole. Yup, sounds a lot like clumsy me.
Then there was my first missions trip which was so amazing words can't begin to describe it!! The beautiful beaches, the wounderful, hopspitable people and they're awesome sense of family and love even though they didn't have much to offer. All the families and people had such a fiery spirit. We went to the Doominican Republic, and it was by far one of the best experiences in my life; I hope to do that again.
All the Unite Maine's we've been to and hosted. Tons of teens getting saved, having fun and drinking energy drinks!!
Camping and hiking trips!! When Bekah hiked up Tumbledown in jandals (flip-flops) and her motivation was to get cellphone reception at the top. Haha. We got stung by bees, and it was raining, we had a few slips, but we made it by working together. It was something we all needed. And a weekend in the wilderness sure brought us all closer together.

Peanut.Butter.Jelly.Time

Annabelle oh, Annabelle, how do I put this into words. I have gone through so much with you that I can't bear to remember some of it. You are not the same girl that I met in 2004. We would gang up on each other and attempt to pull the stupidest pranks. But we grew up together like cousins. I love you Annabelle and I know I can always count on you through my hardest times. You've been there for me when no one else was, you've given me better advice then any magazine. I can't tell you how that future awaits you- a blank advice column just calling your name. Your such a drama queen but thats what makes you you. You're an amazing dancer and I can't wait to see you when your a professional Prima Ballerina. You're the most American British girl that I know and you are absolutely gorgeous. You are so accepted and loved everywhere and you deserve to know that everything you are and everything you do is honored and respected and people really admire you and look up to you. Good luck on Broadway!
I remember when I first met you.
I remember when I thought you were shy.
I remember when you ate candy off my floor in Miami and now we laugh.
I remember when we swam in the pool during a hurricane.
I remember when I stole your barbie doll.
I remember when me and Lilly tried to steal you and Bekah's secrets.
I remember when you were the last to move to Maine.
I remember when you rented the log cabin.
I remember when you wanted to switch rooms with Lily.
I remember when I got sick on my first sleepover at your cabin and had to go home.
I remember when you got your new house.
I remember when you got Buzz and were gonna name him Frodo.
I remember when you drew all over your kitchen floor.
I remember you saying you froze your cat in a bowl.
I remember you figuring out clouds move.
I remember when you said 'let's make potatoes out of these potato chips'
I remember when you danced in clouds.
I remember when you became an official tough cookie.
I remember when we climbed on your roof.
I remember when you spilt maple syrup all over your basement floor.
I remember when Bekah broke the 100 year old bed.
I remember when we cut out magazines and made colages.
I remember when we made a friendship book.
I remember when we loved Hannah Montana.
I remember when I wanted braces because you had them.
I remember when you squished Beckah on the pool float.
I remember when David stole your hat.
I remember when we boogie boarded at Popham Beach.
I remember when I slammed into the doorway after eating cookie dough.
I remember when we freaked out when Christian drove down your street slowly.
I remember riding bikes in the dark.
I remember Bekah's armpit stains at Christian's graduation.
I remember when we obsessed over The Last Mimzy.
I remember when we started a band.
I remember 'star'
I remember when I peed on the floor three times because of Lily's kareoke contest.
I remember when we got mad at eachother over Bratz dolls.
I remember going to Matheson Hammok and getting chased by a giant crab.
Love you forever hunnie, and I bet you could come up with more!
